Activate the HL7 Editor
Three steps, about a minute. You will need the license key from your email.

Find your key
Your key is in the email from licensing@kainoshealthcare.com, subject "Your Kainos HL7 Editor free trial". It begins with KHC2. Copy the whole key, including that prefix.

Open the License menu
Start the HL7 Editor, then choose License in the menu bar and select Enter License Key. If you were sent a licence file rather than a key, choose Import License File instead.

Paste and confirm
Paste the key into the Enter License Key box and confirm. The editor replies "License activated", with the name it was issued to and the tier.
If something goes wrong
- The editor says activation failed
- Almost always a partial copy. Check you have the whole key, from KHC2 through to the final character, with no line break in the middle. Copying from the plain-text part of the email is more reliable than from a preview pane.
- You cannot find the email
- Check your spam folder for a message from licensing@kainoshealthcare.com. A trial key is issued once per email address, so a second signup with the same address will not send another.
- Your trial has run out
- Trial keys last 7 days from issue. When one expires the editor locks the features rather than deleting anything, and your files stay where they are. A purchased key activates the same way and unlocks it again.
